FIRM DESCRIPTION
The Miller | Hull Partnership, LLP

The Miller|Hull Partnership is widely recognized as a design leader in the Pacific Northwest and the firm's national and international reputation continues to grow, having received over 160 design awards in 28 years, including the 2003 Firm Award from the National AIA. Two books on the firm have been published: "10 Houses - The Miller|Hull Partnership" by Rockport Press: 1999; and a firm monograph "The Miller|Hull Partnership - Architects of the Pacific Northwest", by Princeton Architectural Press: 2001.

Miller|Hull has its roots in the powerful landscape of the Pacific Northwest. Founded by Washington State University grads David Miller and Robert Hull, and joined by partners Norman Strong and Craig Curtis, the firm consists of 50 staff and has offices in a refurbished warehouse building on the historic Seattle Waterfront. Miller|Hull's design philosophy centers around two essential architectural ideas. One is to use a building's structure and program to create a significant place within a site, and the other is to be sensitive to climate and to respond to environmental demands with the form of the building. These ideas have allowed Miller|Hull's projects to convey a harmonious balance between form and nature and promote the principles of sustainable design.
