John Berry, author of the book "The Purpose of Design"
(Rizzoli Publishing), will present a lecture entitled "Eames,
Nelson and Jerald, --- Corporations and Designers' Partnership
and its Social Contributions --- The Practice of Herman
Miller" He will talk about his own experiences
in an international architecture office, his experiences
in Herman Miller's office where design is considered as
a problem solving process, will discuss the meaning of innovative
design, and the process to create those designs based on
his various experiences of teaching in art & design
school. His speech will include examples of collaboration
and other works with Eames, Nelson, Prost and others.
John Berry was Vice President of Corporate Communications
at Herman Miller for sixteen years, working closely with
the Eames Office, George Nelson, and other major designers.
