EVENT OVERVIEW:
In response to the numerous ACCJ member requests to hear
from the giants in Japanese architecture, we have scheduled
one. ACE is pleased to present Dr. Kisho Kurokawa, architect
of record for amazing projects from Singapore to Kazakhstan
to China, and back here in Tokyo, where he is currently
working on the National Art Center under construction in
Roppongi. Join Dr. Kurokawa as he discusses his recent work
and the running theme through his projects: "symbiosis
of the borderless society with local cultures and functional
ecotechnology."
Biography of Dr. Kisho Kurokawa
Among his many distinctions, Dr. Kurokawa is an advisor
to various provincial governments in China and Kazakhstan
and has been decorated with countless awards, including
the Order of Cultural Merit from Tokyo, the Officier de
l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from France, the Commandeur
de l'Ordre du Lion de Finlande, and the Bulgarian Government's
First Order.
